The Wing-T offense featuring the Buck sweep as a core play has consistently been one of the most potent offensive attacks year in and year out across the country. In this video, Coach Nate Eimer gives a detailed overview of the Buck sweep play and the check with me (CWM) system that he utilizes with his offense to always get to the play he wants to run.

Buck Sweep

Coach Eimer begins by giving an overview of the Wing-T offense, including positions, numbering system, and defensive alignment terminology. A detailed look at the Buck sweep play is given with assignments and coaching points for each player on the offense. Also, several examples of the Buck sweep in game action are shown against a variety of defensive alignments. Eimer shares examples of several formations, including unbalanced and a wing/slot formation. You will learn:

  • How to coach the "fire" block.
  • The innovative Buck Sweep Mesh drill.
  • The "F Buck" play that can be used against fast penetrating defenses.

Check With Me System

Coach Eimer also goes into detail about the CWM system that he uses with his offense. Check with me is a popular concept that offensive teams use that allows the play to be changed at the line of scrimmage based on how the defense aligns. Eimer shows how he utilizes this concept in a simple way in which the QB makes a call at the line to determine the direction of the play. You'll learn which formations to run CWM Buck sweep from, some of the things that the call is based on, and how to use "Wiggle" motion to confuse the defense.

The Wing-T offense featuring the Buck sweep can be a potent rushing attack for any team. Coach Eimer shares much of what makes his offense so difficult to defend for opposing defenses. Make the Buck sweep a part of your offense this season!
